5 Simple Habits That Changed My Life | #Momlife

1. Self Care.

Since becoming a mom, I’ve learned the importance of “filling my cup” and have done the work to make Self Care my lifestyleMy wellbeing is no longer an afterthought, and because of this I’m better equipped spiritually, mentally & physically to care for my family.  I no longer allow myself to  suffer in silence/sit in overwhelm.  Not anymore.  I speak up and ask for the support  I need in order to get time for myself. From scheduling time for myself every month (Selfish Sunday), to going to therapy bi-weekly (it’s lit)… to taking advantage of all of the “mini moments” to pour into my life daily… I get my time and my life will never be the same. More to come.

2. Waking up before my family.

I wake up before 5:30am almost every single day,  and I’ve been doing this consistently for the past 3 months.  The highlights of my morning include enjoying my cup of coffee in peace, spending time in God’s word, and seeking His guidance for the day. And depending on my schedule for that day, I  also do my workout.  It’s not always easy, but having something to look forward to, that I truly love and enjoy, makes it 100%  worth the push for me. And my day is  just better when I wake up early. Yes, there are still challenges to overcome, but  “My day always flows best when I’m up before the rest”.  Getting a head start on my day, before everyone else “needs me”… has changed the game for me.

3. Spending time with Jesus, Daily.

I’ve really been working on making the Lord my daily delight (Psalms 37:4 ), abiding in Him (John 15:4-11) , meditating on His Word,  and putting my full trust in Him. I gave my life to Christ years ago, but I feel like my desire to go deeper with Him has grown since becoming a mom.  He is The Source… My EVERYTHING!  Making every effort to intentionally seek God first in all of my ways, early in the morning, has made such a difference in my life. There is something different that happens when we seek  God in the calm of the morning., without distractions.   Even as I write this, I’m in the midst of one of the most uncertain and challenging times of my life, yet I feel stronger and more secure than ever.  There is peace that overtakes me when I lay all of my cares at His feet.  I trust Him with my life, and I am now in the midst of that lived experience. I have no idea how any mom can survive with out Him, and I’m so grateful for His grace, mercy, strength, rest, favor, correction, direction and faithfulness!  My life will never be the same and this is just the beginning!

4. Making time to do, wear & enjoy what I love.

If you know me then you know I love to slay! My forever goal is to be snatched for His glory; allowing the work that God is doing on the inside to shine through in all the ways that I show up… and that includes all things beauty and fashion. I feel like this desire has heightened since becoming a mom, mainly because I can’t stand the narratives that imply “once you become a mom, you become a mess.” NOT for this momma!  Your girl has been doing the work to grow and become who God is calling me to be, and I will reflect just that.  So every week,  multiple times a week, I plan a whole slay.  From my face beat to my feet, I show up to reflect the work God is doing in and through me.  I wear one of my favorite ensembles ( from sweats to dresses… I only own things that I love), throw on my lashes, and live my best stay-at-home-mom life with my little one.  It’s been so good for me. I also have a hair schedule.  Yes… a whole schedule of slays for my hair. I seriously love it!  I can’t quite explain it but when I look and feel amazing, I’m able to face the day a bit more confidently.  Besides beauty maintenance is a form of self care for me.

5. Working out weekly.

I working out at least 5x a week.  It’s a lifestyle, as well as a form of self care for me. Working out is not only good for me physically, but I often find it helps me when I’m in need of a mental break, and even a reset.  Like most, I’m not always in the mood to workout; however, I am always so fulfilled when I push through and get it done. Always!  Not to mention I have a whole wardrobe that’s depending on me to show up, lol.  So working out whether a HITT workout on the free NTC app, a 3 mile walk outdoors, or my own in-house  workout sequence… it helps keep me fit, stable and ready! My wellness is a priority.

The “Content Crisis” | 3 Strategies to help moms create content, consistently!

Some “momma creatives” are struggling to create content, consistently. They’ve slipped into  what I’m calling the “Content Crisis”. These mommas may have amazing ideas, but aren’t sure how to formulate those ideas into “post-able” content.  Or if they do create the content, they struggle to remain consistent! And let’s not forget to mention, time is not always on our side!

Momma, is this you? If so, keep reading! I’m sharing 3 tips to help you overcome the “content crisis”, that you can apply TODAY!

1. Clarity!

Answer the following: Who are you (how do you want to position yourself)? Who are you speaking to (your audience)? What message, story, or lesson do you want to share, and why (purpose, goal)? And how would you like to share it? Text, video, audio..etc? When it comes to content I truly believe clarity and authenticity are essential. This helps with attracting, launching and selling, if that’s your end goal.  Outside of that, you can get as creative and expressive as you’d like. Are there certain platforms that respond “better”  to certain types of content? of course. For example reels are still very hot on IG… but the type of reels you create are completely up to you. I’ve seen reels that are all text from an author promoting a new book, and others from stylists with no words but rather a step by step showing how to use a new product. I’ve seen a bunch of funny ones, and others that were created to bring awareness to social injustice.  And guess what, I’ve also seen very impactful platforms that don’t use reels at all. So truly, it is up to you! The key is to get clear about who you are, who you serve, and plan accordingly.

2. Consistency!

Since becoming a mom, batching my content has been a game changer. And if I’m being honest it has helped me to be more consistent. Wild how planning can do that! Where I once was able to create in the moment, I now have a whole toddler to consider. And sis is busy! Outside of nap time and bed time, I feel like she’s always on 100, and I gotta keep both eyes on her lol. So creating ain’t easy, but I made it a point to figure out a way to show up in business, without sacrificing time with my little lady! So I looked at my schedule, and decided that I would select one day every week were I would give myself the time, space and grace to create content freely, without interruption and more importantly without the guilt of stepping away from my child! So every Sunday, I have my plan of ideas and I escape for 2-3 hours in the morning (before hubby goes to work) to focus on creating. From creating image quotes, recording videos and reels, to planning and scheduling my blog posts and clubhouse rooms… Sunday is my day to create!

3. Confidence!

Most of us lack confidence because we don’t believe in ourselves, or we’ve been comparing ourselves to others. This was huge for me. Before I got clear on who I am, and who I’m called to serve, I wasn’t as bold, confident or consistent. I was constantly looking at the other mommy pages, feeling somewhat out of place because my message went against the norm. Listen, even my brand colors were different than the usual mauves and pastels. But once your girl got clarity, and remembered that being all of me is necessary to attract the moms I’m called to serve, my confidence grew exponentially.  Now, you can’t tell me, or my brightly colored posts, anything! I’m being all of me; bright, bold, unapologetically me!

It’s also important to give yourself permission to be a beginner. So many times we start out and expect everything to be peaches and cream from day one, and it typically doesn’t work out that way! Just because your content hasn’t gone viral, doesn’t mean it doesn’t have impact! Just because you didn’t get a million views, doesn’t mean it hasn’t added value. And we all know it only takes a few clients to really make an impact financially. So, stop looking around, and focus on you.  Know that you are called, and what you have to add is needed for such a time as this! So share that quote, record and upload that video, tell that funny impactful story… do it, share it, and show up…confidently!

Behind the Smile | Let’s talk about it!

I posted these two images on IG and I’m sure many of my followers weren’t sure what the actual emphasis was regarding “How it started vs. how it’s going”

In both pictures, from the outside looking in:

✨I look happy

✨Dreams  is happy, and clearly cared for

✨mom life looks good on me! right?!

You see social medial will do that to you. Make you look like you have it all together when in reality you are fading fast behind the scenes.

That was me. Behind the smile, in the first image I was struggling. I was struggling with my purpose, and how to “balance” it all… my home, my child, my marriage, my businesses…etc! It was a lot. I was all over the place, I cringed at the word “schedules”, and quite frankly I didn’t think anyone could really relate to my situation. Yes, I had moms who prayed for me, offered amazing advice along the way…and moms I could call on (an often did) when I felt myself spiraling! But even with all of that, I so stuck, and my limiting beliefs were running the show. smh.

I remember distinctly having a conversation with my business accountability partner, telling her all the things “I can’t” do because I’m a mom! Listen, my husband goes out to work all day, my family lives miles away so it’s just me… and I convinced myself that there wasn’t enough time in a day to do anything other than “mom stuff”. Even though I knew I wanted M.O.R.E!!!  I literally talked myself out of the overflow God desired for me, simply because I couldn’t see past my current place of overwhelm.

You see you can never manifest overflow, when you’re stuck in overwhelm.

And for me that overwhelm became unbearable! I’ve shared this story several times, but I had a serious mommy moment on my bathroom floor… crying out to God saying “If You don’t take over, I’m not gonna make it”.

It was a true moment of surrender. It was not pretty… but oh my God I’m so thankful!

Since that moment, I’ve been doing the work to get my life in alignment. I had to address and dismantle the limiting beliefs that I’d let guide me in my mom journey, and begin to apply the principles of God’s word to implement systems and strategies  to create not only the harmony I desire in my life as a whole mom, but also to ensure that I never SIT in overwhelm or struggle again!

Will challenges come? Yes! Any mom who says otherwise is a whole lie… lol. We are moms, and things happen that are out of our control. This has nothing to do with perfection, and being in control of everything momma! The perfect mom life doesn’t exist! If it did we wouldn’t need God! What I’m talking about has everything to do with alignment, and learning how to remain in a place of victory throughout the seasons of motherhood! It’s possible, I’m a witness!

I’m super pumped for tomorrow evening! My self and some other mommas are gathering for an intimate training, where I’ll be sharing my proven 5-step process to overcome the overwhelm! This is the very process has transformed not only who I am as a mom, but more importantly who I am as a woman and child of God!

❤️I’m confident in my abilities as a whole mom. I can now say without hesitation “I’m a great momma, and I deserve the best”

❤️I’ve given myself permission to unapologetically manifest overflow in my life. No more waiting and wishing, I’m claiming and manifesting EVERYTHING I DESIRE!

❤️I’ve created routines and systems that support the work/life  harmony that is my promise as a mom! My life is in alignment, and the areas of my life from being a wife, business owner… even my wardrobe… all work in together and are in agreement!

❤️I’ve overcome mom guilt, overwhelm and burn out, and have strategies in place to help me to remain in a place of victory. God does not want me to sit in overwhelm, I am His daughter and I am more than a conqueror!

❤️ I am now a top priority in my life, and give of myself from a place of overflow. I make time for me, and hold the space to process, grow, learn, shift, release, receive and feel all that is needed on this journey of being. I love myself, and treat myself with the utmost care, love and respect.

I really don’t have much else to say, except to extend an invitation for you to join us! With just hours left before registration closes, I don’t want you to miss out! So click below to register today!

You don’t have to sit in overwhelm, and I’m here to guide you to the other side!

Can’t wait to see you there!
